Synogate developed a high-performance IP-core for genua GmbH, a subsidiary of the Bundesdruckerei Group. The IP core enables detection and prevention of attacks with copies of valid network packets in high-security networks, required by cryptographic protocols like IPsec (RFC 4301, RFC 4303).
Through an agile approach to RTL design, Synogate demonstrated their ability for rapid prototyping and iterative development.
Key Benefits:
- Prototype delivered within a few weeks, and production-ready IP-core within 3 months, significantly faster than estimated
- Excellent quality, allowing 200 GbE line rate on suitable FPGAs
- Smooth porting from Altera FPGAs of the Arria series to the Stratix series
- The IP-core, implemented in VHDL, includes configuration software, scripts for easy integration, and a driver reference implementation in C.
The comprehensive documentation adapts to configuration and ensures seamless integration and support.
The IP-core has been successfully integrated into two of genua’s appliances. One of them has been approved by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), approval for the other appliance is currently pending.
genua’s network appliances secure critical and highly sensitive digital infrastructures with firewalls, VPNs, remote maintenance solutions and industrial IT security – for authorities, organisations subject to secrecy protection and KRITIS.
We would like to work again with Synogate in the future if we require their services again.
